Cut wire is very efficient abrasive for shot peening processes. Some of the advantages are: A consistent size and shape metallic abrasive. Yields longer life than cast abrasives. Does not have hollow splits or twins. Maintains its shape and size longer than cast abrasives. Produces a dust free surface. There are three forms G1, G2 and G3. G3 is the most spherical form.
